Purpose and projects
Purpose
Radiotherapy generates a wealth of medical image data: In Denmark in 2021, a total of 241.000 radiation treatments (fractions) were delivered in 19.000 treatment courses. The aim of DESIRE is to make these data available for data science. We will do that by launching projects and initiatives within the areas below.
Projects
- Expand data access: Data harvesting, DcmCollab, fair data overview/anonymisation
- Data curation: Outlier detection, variability mapping, structured reporting
- Framework for open-source access: Collaborative research network and distributed learning. Developing DcmCollab – The DICOM Collaboration system: Portal for national AI implementation, national dose plan bank. Infrastructure maintenance, data security
- Education in data science: Training of students, researchers, clinicians, up-grading of qualifications of professionals, education for researchers, training in DcmCollab use
